Only a 15min. walk from the Science Center, Sherman Café is the place to go if you want to escape the feeling that you know everyone and have been everywhere at Harvard. And you're missing none of the comforts of the Square: Toscanini's ice cream ($3-4), cheap coffee ($1.20-1.80), along with the added bonuses of fantastic sandwiches and soups, excitingly eclectic music, and free wireless internet. The pressed gruyère sandwich with carmelized onions, mustard, and spinach on scali bread ($6.25/half $3.75) is a favorite—grilled cheese to the max—but you can't go wrong with any of their mouthwatering inventions. If you're looking for the place to settle in and finish your thesis or write the next Great American Novel, Sherman is it.
