The secret to Leone’s Submarine Sandwich's success is simple: great counter service, quality ingredients and killer subs. This shop punctuates a strip of excellent, family-type restaurants that’s a hidden secret among the locals including Mamma Lisa’s and Primo’s Pizzeria. Definitely worth the trek via the MBTA’s 89 and 101 buses.

While Primo's Pizzeria in Somerville’s Winter Hill serves up quality NYC-style pizzas, their claim to fame is their wide array of subs and sandwiches that range from an authentic eggplant parmigiana to buffalo chicken to a classic hot pastrami. They also have a huge selection of sides--everything from homemade sweet potato fries to buffalo shrimp to fried dough puffs. Primo's also boasts dinner specials ranging from a baked stuffed scallop plate to ziti with meatballs to a roast beef dinner. Great place to go if you're looking for variety.
