Chipotle Mexican Grill is one of Davis Square’s new kids on the block. There’s an obvious Californian influence at this hipster restaurant—ranging from its art deco-style décor to its minimalist menu. When compared to Anna’s Taqueria, the food doesn’t measure up. And, gasp, they don’t even have quesadillas. If style over substance is your thing, Chiptole is right up your alley.

Formerly called Shino Express, Newbury Street's Snappy Sushi opened its second location in Davis Square on April 16, 2008. This spot boasts a new menu including Snappy Sushi's Sashimi Appetizer (&5.95) and a Tuna Tar Tar ($7.95). This new sushi joint has taken over La Contessa's old digs on Highland Avenue. Snappy makes a healthier sushi roll using partially milled whole grain brown rice.
