While the Paul Revere Beverage store is true neighborhood liquor stop in every sense of the word (you may find yourself in line with a cast of Winter Hill’s colorful regulars), the service at this corner package store far outweighs any negative first impressions. The guys working the counter really make an effort to treat their patrons with respect. While the store places an emphasis on Coors and Bud products armed with the cheapest 40-ounce beers in town (only $2 for their Natural Light bottles), they’ve made a concerted effort to improve their selection of wines, imports and hard-to-find brews. And, for the local history buff, this package store marks the spot where Paul Revere made his famous “The British are Coming!” jaunt through town. In fact, there’s a nifty historical marker right across the street from Paul Revere Beverage to get more information.

Neighborhood liquor store with an above-average selection of beer and potent potables. Compared to nearby stores like Downtown Wine and Spirits on Elm Street, the offerings at Crowley’s Liquors is limited but relatively cheaper than the rest (for example, their 40-ounce Bud is about a buck less at Crowley’s). This Ball Square package store also boasts fast and friendly service.

For foodies longing for foreign sweets and flavors, Farmer’s Bounty is just that … an eclectic bounty of American, Indian, Irish and British treats crammed into this centrally based Elm Street location. The produce, however, excellent price and very fresh products as compared to what you can find at the nearby Shaw’s. With that said, Farmer’s Bounty is great for those in the Davis Square area looking for a anything from spices produce, candy to different international tastes!
