This small, independently owned chain of retail stores specializing in used and new CDs supports and nurtures Boston’s local music scene—which makes CD Spins a Davis Square hotspot. The shop allows bands to post flyers in its storefront and is great place to get the lowdown about upcoming rock ‘n’ roll shows. Also, their selection reflects the eclectic tastes of the locals and you can stumble on a hidden musical gem just by browsing.
There’s a lot of fried goodness at Cristo’s 7 Star Pizza. With awesome cheese sticks and fried mushrooms, it’s the perfect spot to indulge after a hangover. Greek pizza is generally less greasy. However, it takes several napkins to sop up the drippings from this Davis Square joint. Try Cristo's traditional Greek goods—like their Gyro special or their tasty chicken kebab instead. And for the folks who are lucky to live in the Davis Square area, Cristo’s offers speedy and free delivery.

Owners Dechen and Choesang Martsa recently revamped their quaint storefront restaurant on Elm Street in Davis Square. The duo serves up some tasty traditional dishes from their native Tibet as well specialties from India. Martsa on Elm Street serves up great vegetarian dishes including bhajis (crispy onion and potatoes deep fried in chickpea batter) or vegetable momos (steamed or fried half-moon dumplings). Also, the prices are reasonable so you can have a nice sit-down dinner on the cheap.
Hands down, Downtown Wine & Spirits boasts the best beer and wine selection in Somerville with over 11,000 brands in stock. You can taste brews from all over the world—from Alesmith to Drie Fonteinen to the Trappists. The staff, who have an affinity for punk and lo-fi music ranging from the Pixies to Guided By Voices, are also knowledgeable in their hops and barley. Sign up for their e-mail list and get an invite to one of their festive wine tasting events held every Tuesday night. And, for those die-hard drinkers looking for an open package store on Sunday, Downtown Wine & Spirits is one of the few Davis Square liquor stores open until 11 pm.
Thank you for your contribution. You've taken a huge step to making Povo the "word on the street,"
and we appreciate it very much. Because of the complexity of the "wiki text" and code that can be used
on Povo, in order to edit this section in the future you must click the "edit" button to the right of the section
heading (or for the whole page).
Graffiti is a place for quick notes. Know the hours of a business but not sure where to put it? Did something just happen at this place? Leave some graffiti.
Sometimes street view does not point exactly to the right place. You may need to "drive around" a bit.
