This latest upscale addition to the Union Square’s arsenal of hipster hangouts, Grand recently had, well, their grand opening and quickly became Somerville latest hotspot for home furnishings, clothing and unusual gifts. Think Newbury Street with a less pretentious Somerville twist. Owners Wendy Friedman, Adam Larson and Jon O’Toole transformed this former theater space into a tasteful storefront and gallery that showcases affordable, functional art—everything from horse murals, to organic wooden lamps to fire engine red sneakers. Also, their tagline is a clever homage to the "Wizard of Oz": "There's no place like ... Grand."
